THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- Breathe easy … relief is on the way as Salt Remedy has recently opened an innovative dry salt therapy treatment center in The Woodlands area at 2330 FM 1488, just two and a half miles west of I-45.

Salt therapy is a natural therapeutic treatment for respiratory and skin ailments that has been practiced for centuries. Since salt is anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, and anti-viral, these treatments are proven to arrest and reverse respiratory ailments and reverse many nagging skin conditions for people of all ages.

It is the first facility of its kind in the area serving the Montgomery County and north Harris County areas.

The Salt Remedy facility welcomes clients to simply relax in a spa-like atmosphere in “salt rooms” and let the microscopic salt particles do their cleansing work. In these rooms, medical-grade salt is ground into microscopic particles by a machine called a halogenerator and then diffused into the air. These particles are inhaled and also settle on the skin of clients during their 20- to 45-minute treatment sessions while they read, meditate or nap in zero-gravity recliners.

As the microscopic particles are inhaled deep into the lungs, inflammation is reduced, bacteria and other toxins are either eliminated or escorted out of the body, and mucus is broken up and expectorated. This results in cleared airways, better breathing, and restored respiratory function. Conditions treated by salt therapy include asthma, allergies, bronchitis, and smokers cough to name a few.

The salt particles are also absorbed into the skin. Research confirms that salt has curative properties and will reverse the symptoms of many skin conditions such as acne, psoriasis, eczema, rosacea and aging skin. The salt particles will normalize pH and stimulate processes that result in better circulation, skin repair and new growth.

Additional benefits of salt therapy include the reduction of snoring and sleep apnea which results in deeper and more restful sleep, reduced stress, better vocal cord health, and improved athletic performance.

In addition to a large group room and private rooms, Salt Remedy features a playful beach-themed room where children and their parents can enjoy the benefits of dry salt therapy together.

“For many people, salt therapy is a gift of a new chance at a normal life,” said Cassandra Mays, who co-founded Salt Remedy along with her husband Kyle. They are long-time residents of The Woodlands. “My daughter has suffered from severe allergies all her life, but since she began her salt therapy treatments, her terrible symptoms are finally abating. And with her improved breathing and healthier skin has come better sleep and an improved outlook on life. Once we saw these results, we had to bring salt therapy home to The Woodlands and surrounding areas.

“We welcome the community to stop by and discover the wellness benefits our new treatment center has to offer through a simple, natural, non-invasive, and stress-free method to improve your physical health and mental outlook.”

Yoga, guided meditation, and breathing classes are also offered at Salt Remedy.
